From the exterior, the house presents a bold, monolithic facade that immediately conveys its introverted nature. The front appears as two stacked boxes devoid of traditional windows, wrapped in perforated metal fencing that conceals the main entrance. This design choice ensures the privacy of the residents, reflecting their preference for seclusion.

Inside, the layout progresses from public to private, with service areas and communal spaces at the front, transitioning to more intimate areas towards the back. The architecture responds to the client's desire for openness within the confines of privacy. Large openings and minimal partition walls dominate the internal structure, fostering a sense of spaciousness and airiness that counters the typical crowded urban residential designs in Indonesia.

Materiality plays a crucial role in the aesthetic and functional aspects of GN House. The facade, clad in terracotta-colored tiles usually reserved for floors and interiors, exemplifies innovative material usage. These tiles, custom-sized to fit the precise dimensions of the building, demand exceptional craftsmanship, highlighting the local artisans' skill in a country where construction technology remains relatively rudimentary.

Every side of the house, including the upper floors, features window openings, ensuring ample natural light and ventilation, promoting a healthy living environment. The meticulous design extends to the outdoor areas, with thoughtfully crafted courtyards and gardens enhancing the overall living experience.

GN House stands as a remarkable example of how modern architecture can meet specific client needs while respecting traditional craftsmanship and integrating innovative material applications.
