This workshop focused on launching the Teacher Leaders Institute (TLI) learning community, where educators from across Africa and beyond gathered to discuss student engagement and motivation in the classroom. Rick Campbell, the Dean, emphasized that teachers are the architects of change and outlined TLI's mission to ensure every child receives an exemplary education.
Participants shared personal experiences of learning and teaching, exploring how intrinsic motivation, agency, competence, and meaning can be fostered in the classroom. The session included writing exercises and breakout room discussions to help participants reflect on their own experiences and strategies for promoting student engagement.
The conversation ended with an invitation for ongoing dialogue through WhatsApp and Google Classroom platforms, as TLI aims to create a global network of educators committed to educational transformation.
