Over the 20th to the 22th of June, the West Somerset Railway held their annual diesel gala also known as ‘Vintage Diesels to the Seaside’. The line managed to have five locomotives from the home fleet in operation as well as five visitors which were chosen based on the new weight restrictions of the line. Starring at the event was class 35 Hymek D7018 making its return to service after a quarter of a century out of action for major overhaul. The visitors included class 37 D6948 from the GWSR, class 25s D7535 & D7612 from the SDR and class 73 107 & 136 from GBRf. I hope you enjoy the video!
