So where do muscle knots come from?🤔
They can originate from injuries from overuse, heavy lifting or repetitive motions. Tension from mental and emotional stress can also cause knots to appear. Additionally, when muscles compensate in one area for a lack of good posture in another area, muscle knots/tension can develop.
Details👇🏻
1. For some extra goodness: add a (slightly deflated Pilates ball to this flow to challenge the balance/stability and strengthen the core). + the Pilates ball allows for more in core engagement, which can result in improve posture.🙌🏻
2. With a slight bend in the knees, brace through the core, engaging the abdominals and glutes. then, press the head into the hands and releasing the fingers with the thumbs at the jawline.
3. From here, inhale to prepare as you sit tall balancing on the ball, and pulse 2x towards each side. The first pulse is shallow, and the second is deeper.
4. The goal is to see what thoracic mobility is available during this exercise. (Aka what movement is available: rotation throughout your mid spine)
✨Benefits:
Improved posture
Strengthened core
Increase in balance/stability
Decreased tension in mid-spine
