ROCCO - 2011
In ROCCO dancers become boxers and boxers become dancers. In a boxing ring one challenges the other by striking punches, fast footwork and virtuoso tactics. Tension builds up after several rounds of heavy clinches up until the point where the other is enraged and strikes back. In ROCCO the dancers represent brotherhood in all its senses: the good and the bad, devil and angel, the androgynous and the incestuous. They are Kaïn and Abel, Romulus and Remus, Laurel and Hardy. In close combat family relationships are put to the test and the men dare each other's physical and psychological boundaries. Ready for a knock-out? A dark full ride.
