Join me on a tranquil journey through the breathtaking Lake District, where I experience the beauty of silent hiking across two stunning circular routes. In this video, I explore the majestic Wainwright summits and picturesque landscapes, all while embracing the serenity of wild camping in the heart of the UK’s most iconic national park.
Route 1: Grasmere Common Circular
I begin my adventure with a hike around Grasmere Common, taking in some of the most iconic summits in the Lake District, including:
• Helm Crag
• High Raise
• Pavey Ark
• Loft Crag
• Pike of Stickle
These peaks offer jaw-dropping panoramic views of the Lakeland fells and the surrounding valleys, making it a truly unforgettable experience. Whether you're an experienced hiker or a beginner, this route offers a perfect blend of challenging terrain and scenic beauty.
Route 2: Toutbeck Park Circular
Next, I venture to Toutbeck Park, where I ascend a series of rugged peaks with dramatic vistas, including:
• Sallows
• Yoke
• Ill Bell
• Froswick
• The Tongue
The sweeping views of the surrounding fells and valleys provide a serene backdrop for wild camping, and the quietude of the Lake District helps me reconnect with nature in its purest form.
Why Silent Hiking & Wild Camping?
Silent hiking is an incredible way to immerse myself in nature, free from distractions. By opting for wild camping, I embrace the adventure of camping off-the-beaten-path, away from the hustle and bustle of busy campsites. It’s the perfect way to experience the raw beauty of the Lake District in its untouched form.
