Rare glimpse at the Hooded Parrot (Psephotus dissimilis). This species of parrot lives in a very small region of Australia near Pine Creek. The Hooded Parrot is very noticeably sexually dimorphic with the females being a pale green but the males boasting black, turquoise, and yellow colors.
They are a particularly unique parrot because they nest in termite mounds. It took many hours to locate these birds but once we did we got some excellent 4k footage of them. Enjoy.
