DISCLAIMER: In this video, you will notice trash and recycling carts being dumped into the same truck. The MRFs are very strict about the quality of material they receive, so they have recycling crews go through first and collect the carts with clean recycling, and they leave the contaminated bins to be disposed of as trash. This crew is NOT mixing trash and recycling.

Over the course of last year LRS took delivery of 50 of these Mack LR Heil Rear Loaders, primarily for the Blue Cart recycling contract they won for the City of Chicago. However, some of those units make it out to the suburbs, whether it's to help with yard waste or on an alley route, like we see here. In this town, crews start off on rear loaders doing alleys in the morning and then they go dump, park those trucks and grab front loaders for the streetside/ wider alley work in the afternoon. This crew was super cool and very welcoming with me filming, and both guys on the back had actually heard of my channel before! The two helpers had parked their trucks and hopped on the back to help finish a section before going to dump and take lunch. I really like this combo and how nice it looks in LRS’s colors, and there are a couple of things that stand out to me. As an extra safety measure, they have put guards on the side to protect pedestrians which I thought was interesting. Plus, in place of the standard Heil badges they instead have LRS badges which I thought looked really sharp. The dual tippers, which were pretty quick too, are definitely the ideal setup for routes like this to optimize efficiency. Overall I found this truck and crew really fun to watch, and I hope you all enjoy the video!
