Moving the Keystone Skimmer.
Despite its archaic appearance, the skimmer travels pretty well, if you aren't in a hurry.
There are some closeups of the planetary drives for the draw works.
There are 2 drums, one for hoist, the other for crowd. There is no rehaul, the boom is just raised and the bucket returns by gravity.
On each motion, the sun gear is the input, the planet gears are fastened to the cable drum, and the ring gear is braked to spool in cable. There is a brake on each drum, which either holds or releases to allow cable to pay out. The idea is to avoid the need for a rotating coupling to actuate a conventional internal shoe friction clutch.
...but then they defeated the simplicity by putting internal shoe clutches on the travel.
