来历传说

在明初，明成祖朱棣迁都北京时，将大批回族人迁移到北京东部河北香河一带。其中有个姓哈的人家开了家小饭店，就做这风味独特的香河肉饼。而且经过多年努力，制作技术已经炉火纯青，名声远播。

1770年的一天，乾隆带着刘罗锅微服私访，到了香河，时至正午，有点饿了，就看见了香河肉饼的牌子，二人挪步进去。饼上来，一口下去，香河肉饼的鲜香惊呆了乾隆爷!原来民间竟有如此美味。吃完了，乾隆就高兴地要把自己的墨宝留下来。

这首小诗是这样写的：“香河有奇饼，老妪技艺新，此店一餐毕，忘却天下珍。”

本来肉饼就好吃，加上乾隆爷的称赞，香河肉饼就更是载誉全国，名扬天下。香河在北京的东面，所以许多北京人又管香河肉饼叫京东肉饼。

This layer meat-filled pancakes, otherwise known as the Jing Dong meat pancake, is an authentic northern Chinese dish, which originated in the Sanhe and Dachang areas of Jingdong.
These delicious meat pancakes are filled with beef, lamb or pork. Jingdong meat pancakes are different from the southern style. They have a thin outer crunchy layer, with thick meat in the middle. Each bite will ooze with oil and juice. They taste soft and tender, and the meat is fresh and flavourful. It can be used as a dish or as a staple food. There are more than a dozen varieties.
