Welcome to the course Advanced Cartoon Character Rigging in 3ds Max!
Today, there are almost no tutorials available online about cartoon rigging with squash & stretch in 3ds Max. Standard systems such as Biped and CAT could not deliver the desired effect — they are limited and don’t provide the flexibility we see in animated films.
Back in the day, I searched for such tutorials and only found them on paid platforms. I completed those courses, worked with their rigs for a long time, improved and refined the system for cartoon animation. Now I want to share this knowledge with you — completely free.
What you will learn in this course:
✅Flexi-Line — a flexible system for stretching, squashing, and twisting to achieve cartoon effects.
✅Torso — spine setup with squash & stretch for dynamic torso movement.
✅Head — dynamic head and neck rig with mode switching and squash & stretch.
✅Legs & Arms — IK/FK systems with custom stretchable bones and squash & stretch for cartoon motion.
✅Face — controllers and a control table for expressive facial animation.
