Fundaes Arcade (Chesterfield NJ), 4K arcade walkthrough & tour, July 2024

Описание: Driving out to this new arcade in New Jersey was a trip. Literally driving down single lane roads, past cornfields and abandoned barns halfway falling apart, then all of a sudden - BOOM. A brand new housing development called "Old York Village", and right at the entrance, a small little shopping district featuring an Italian restaurant, a bagel shop, a dentist, and more. And as you pull in, this combination ice cream parlor and arcade is immediately to your left. Walking in, the first thing that grabs your attention is the sleek, clean, modern styling. The ice cream counter is front and center, but the arcade takes up the majority of the space here, with a mix of about 50 machines. A good chunk of what they have here are redemption games and claw machines, but there's also a mix of shooters (Jurassic Park, Terminator, Let's Go Island, etc) and racers (F&F Supercars, Batman, X Games Snowboarder, etc). Rhythm games are singularly represented here by a Guitar Hero Arcade cabinet in the side room, right near a trio of Ice Ball lanes and an air hockey table. Sadly, they don't really have any retro games nor pinball machines here at the moment, but there's definitely a lot of space available for them to expand, and hopefully they will add some in the months to come. Overall, it's a very nice experience, one that this general area was clearly missing. And while many places offer half-price games on certain days of the week, this just might be the only arcade I've found that has buy-one-get-one-free specials on ice cream! (Dang good ice cream, at that.)
