Most of you might say that cacao is healthier and less processed right? And that is what you see in the internet and everywhere else. Actually there is no difference at all and both cacao and cocoa refers to the one item that is the fruit and not the products like chocolate or powder made out of it. Spanish speaking version pronounce this fruit as cacao and the same fruit is pronounced as cocoa in English version.
Then why everyone say cacao is healthier? It’s just the marketing trick and term used by most of the maker for marketing their products and also the content creators and bloggers.
Any chocolate or powder has to go through some kind processing before arriving at the final product. To make Chocolate, cocoa beans has to be fermented and dried and roasted. And to make cocoa powder everyone has to extract and separate butter from cocoa beans and the end product is cocoa powder.

There are only 2 different types of cocoa powder - alkalised and non alkalised. What is alkalisation ? Cocoa is treated with potassium to reduce natural acidity and alkalised powder has more darker brown color when compared to non alkalised powder which is lighter brown color and has natural cocoa bean acidity and all natural characteristics OF COCOA BEANS

So always remember that cocoa and cacao refers to the fruit and not the products made from it. Dont fall for any such marketing terms. Next time when you see somebody saying cacao is healthier version then don't forget to show this video and educate them about the fact behind these 2 terms.
