Freight train strikes car at St. Denis MARC station in Arbutus

A freight train struck a car on the tracks in the Arbutus area Wednesday morning. CSX officials told WBAL-TV 11 News that the incident was reported around 5:44 a.m. on the tracks near the St. Denis MARC station at Maple and Arlington avenues, which is not a railroad crossing. County fire officials told WBAL-TV 11 News that the vehicle stalled while traveling over the train tracks and that the driver got out safely before the collision. Fire officials said there were no injuries to the car's driver or anyone on board the train, which was hauling cargo.
