and a sneaky little message for anyone who might be where i was in february. maybe you have a sneaky little niggling feeling deep in your gut that your relationship isn't right for you. But on the surface it's PERFECT. You can acknowledge you love them. You can acknowledge you should be perfectly happy and fulfilled. You can acknowledge that they've done nothing wrong. And yet you cannot shake this constant fear that you are not living your most authentic truth if you deny this feeling.
Allow me to remind you that there is nothing braver than listening to your feelings, even if -- and especially when -- there is 'no tangible reason' to be feeling them. I dare you to bring these feelings to the surface. I dare you to carefully examine them. To shine light on them. To turn them over in your fingers with friends and family and therapists and people you trust. To even voice them to your partner. To bravely let them into your fears, so that you can see if it's something that can be changed and worked on.
But if you know that you've done all of those things, that you've really really tried to make it work and yet the feeling still lingers, then I IMPLORE you, be brave. Do it. End it. There is never a perfect time. Do it. A part of you is dying every single day you wait. Do not fear the uncertain future. You will mourn. And you will heal. And you will meet a newer, stronger, truer version of you and it will feel better than anything you can possibly imagine. I promise. ♡
