We will learn how to calculate the pH of an aqueous salt, as long as at least one ion is neutral!
Often, we are not told Ka for a cation, or Kb for an anion. Instead, we can use the fact that Ka × Kb = Kw to help us determine the correct equilibrium constant to use.
Remember, Ka and Kb refer to the conjugate acid-base pair:
Ka will be for the molecule with one more H+, and Kb for the species with one fewer H+!
