Our Mercedes Vario 814 Minibus camper conversion! We collect our new van!

Описание: This is the first video of our conversion of a Vario 814 Optare Minibus!

Family of 5, race car we tow all over the country. We converted a 5T Iveco minibus 5 years ago which has been epic. The damn kids keep getting bigger, and I've got a hankering to get over to Europe to do a bit of touring. Just as well do it now, I've no doubt I'll be too old and embarrassing for them to want to come along in a few more years!

We've missed three or four of these over the last 6-Months. Either outbid, or too rusty, or the other side of the country.
This one just fell in our lap, like these things seem to do! We saw it in eBay the evening before it ended. Put on a cheeky bid first thing in the morning, and boom, it was ours.
It's had lots of work. The box section along the outside of the bodywork was replaced a few years ago, seems to be pretty much up together all things said and done. There's lots I'm going to change of course. But the bare bones are there. She's just turned over 256,000km, which I'm hopeful is pretty low for one of these. Although I'm sure it's spent some hours sat idling!

It's got a big old air conditioning unit on the roof, which I'd have paid a fortune for on a few of the race meets last year! 🤣🤣

We're not going to go 'Van Life' with it, and spend hours making oak worktops, nor do I want something super modern. I want something that performs it's function well, is clean, well thought out but ultimately as reliable as a 20 year old bus can be!

In this video I show you what we presently use, which is an Iveco 45C15 Ex-Minibus, and then a walk around of the new one!
