★ロールスロイス コーニッシュIVに関して
1967年にデビューした南仏の海岸道路の名前を表すコーニッシュは、その名の通り世界の王侯貴族や富豪がバカンスをリゾートで過ごすために造られたような最高級パーソナルカーである。
熟練工によってアルミ板を手で叩くという手法で一台一台手造りするため、スタンダードのスチールサルーンの倍ほどの工程と製作期間を要するが、上質でより豪華に仕上げられている。
1992年、生誕25周年となる年に最終モデルのコーニッシュIVが登場。
「必要にして充分なだけ」と発表されている馬力とトルクが不明な伝統のアルミ製V8OHV・6747ccユニットはそのまま踏襲され、ATは4速となったがコラムシフトのままとされた。
エンジンにはカバーが付き、ソフトトップは信頼性の高い電動に変更、リアウィンドーが熱線入りのガラスに替えられた。

Cornish, the name of the coastal road in southern France, which debuted in 1967, is the finest personal car that was built for the royal lords and millionaires of the world to spend their vacation at a resort.
Each one is hand-made by a skilled worker by tapping an aluminum plate by hand, so it takes about twice as many processes and production time as a standard steel saloon.
In 1992, the final model Cornish IV appeared in the 25th anniversary of birth.
The traditional aluminum V8OHV · 6747cc unit with unknown horsepower and torque announced as “necessary and sufficient” was followed, and the AT became 4th speed but was left as a column shift.
The engine has a cover, the soft top has been changed to a highly reliable electric drive, and the rear window has been replaced with glass with hot wires.
