In this video, I move my small Hinoki Cypress ‘Thoweil’ bonsai tree from a large training pot to a small final pot.
Last spring (2024) I thinned about 50% of the foliage, repotted it into a bonsai substrate without pruning many roots, and let it grow for the rest of the growing season, with one or two light prunings.
This year (2025) I gave it another light top prune (around March) and in this video (mid May), I prune about 25-50% of the roots and put in in this beautiful semi-glazed pot by Mikel Edwards. I love this pot and how it complements this tree.
