To better demonstrate what we do at our Faust drama workshops, we want to show you a glimpse of what happens in one! Our groups of all ages do many different activities, scripts, themes and content. This video provides a snapshot of what they learn in one area of drama and theatre.
This term the teen members of Group T have been looking at the work of Augustus Boal, a practitioner who looks at using drama to discuss social, political and geographical issues. Invisible Theatre is a type of performance that happens without the audience’s knowledge it is a performance. It’s usually created and then takes place in a public area where the actors do not explain that they are doing a performance. The people passing or standing nearby then may or may not take part within what they think is a real life situation.
Within the workshop we split into three groups and each came up with our own idea for an Invisible Theatre performance with the topic being our own burning issues and things we can relate to.
