In February 2013 I spent two days at the Gotthard North
Ramp. The winter weather was sunny with cold foggy mornings
and early mountain shadows during which, together with dark
winter evenings, we filmed the trains on the North Ramp from
Erstfeld to Göschenen.
There are always a great variety of freight trains on The
Gotthard operated by several Company's including SBB, BLS,
DB and Crossrail.
Inter City passenger trains are mostly run with ICN Shuttle
trains and the Euro City is a Cisalpino train set. Local trains
are still locomotive hauled and provide further variety in the
types of passenger train.
