Описание: Today was a perfect summer morning to walk around the Forest Park Heights Historic District in Springfield, Massachusetts. This neighborhood is full of amazing houses built between 1880 and 1920, which styles include: Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival, Queen Anne and Shingle Style. The area seen here is in the very southwestern part of Springfield, which borders Longmeadow, MA and is separated by the nicely maintained 735-acre Forest Park. The neighborhood is also known as Cozy Corner, which is on the south side of Sumner Avenue that cuts through the area. There are more big colonial homes on the north side of the avenue, also known as Forest Park Heights, since everything over here is up the hill from the south end of Springfield and the downtown vicinity. It’s also up the hill from interstate 91 and the Connecticut River.

Aside from all these beautiful Victorian homes, one highlight in this video was coming across an estate sale at a huge house built in 1897, which allowed me to explore the interior of the historic home. It’s actually on the market now and going for $550,000! Very cool to see inside the place and all the things that whoever lived there accumulated over the years. Lots of vintage collectables. Another highlight was meeting a home owner named David, who was gardening out front of his house and advised me to go look at the rest of the property if I wanted to film more footage of flowers, plants, trees and decor for my video. It was definitely worth checking out. Thanks David!

In my opinion, this is the best area in Springfield, although there’s a few others that are very nice and historic as well. However, this borders the park and makes it extra special. Plus, many of the people are out on their porches or doing yard work, and they’re friendly, so you can ask a few questions. They all take good care of their homes and that’s great to see. There’s a really nice vibe in Cozy Corner, so that’s why I decided to document it. A preserved time capsule of yesteryear. You can see why Springfield, MA has long been called “The City of Homes”.
