This video documents the saga of destruction leading to the opening of a new Elementary School in Westfield Massachusetts, where city officials have charted a course of demolition and destruction of historic structures over the last several years. Homes, bridges, schools, and commercial buildings have been falling needlessly to the wrecking ball and the Mayor and City Council have been at the reigns, sweeping through town and working to scrub a classic New England city of her charm and uniqueness on a quest to make Westfield Massachusetts look just like everywhere else.
I hope you appreciate my small tribute to some of these buildings that we have lost. This is happening all over the country right now, and it is ruining the identity of lots of once-unique cities and towns. Once this regional charm is gone, we can never bring it back. Shame on those who work to take it away from us...
