Welcome to another camping video with my dog Honey Pie! This time we setup right next to a shallow river, teeming with crayfish, tadpoles and little fishies. He loved chasing sticks in the water and watching the wildlife go by. It was a beautiful summery weekend so I wanted to treat myself to some fresh oatmeal with roasted chestnuts, coconut flakes, goji berries and strawberries and a drizzle of maple syrup on top. For dinner we got some flank steak dry rubbed with a carne asada mix which included garlic, onion, chili, cumin, oregano and black pepper. We topped the tacos with freshly chopped onion, cilantro and salsa verde from La Abuela Mexican Street Food located in St. Jacob's Market. We paired this with horchata over ice, a super refreshing drink of rice milk, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla. It's been a busy summer so it was really great to be able to relax in nature.
