UMass Lowell campus lockdown lifted after report of person with gun

Описание: A lockdown at the University of Massachusetts Lowell was lifted Wednesday afternoon after reports of a person seen with what appeared to be a gun on campus, according to officials.

The lockdown and shelter-in-place orders lasted for more than two hours on what was supposed to be the first day of classes.

In an alert sent to the community, officials said law enforcement believes the individual left the area. Police maintained a heavy presence on campus throughout the evening and stationed officers at all residence halls overnight.
