Описание: Extended highlights of a Barnet Sunday League Division Two match between Edmonton Rovers and AFC Oakwood.
Match played on Sunday 15th March 2026 at Enfield Playing Fields.

This is Edmonton Rovers current group of young players 5th season in adults football in the Barnet Sunday League with more-or-less the whole squad now being 20-year-olds who will be turning 21 during the course of the season. The decision to bring them in as 16-year-olds in 2021 has been a big success so far and you can follow their journey up the divisions with us here with every match being filmed for this You Tube channel. Rovers come into this fixture with a severe lack of match practice as they have been without a game for the past four weeks, firstly after asking for the week off so that players could go away with their girlfriends for Valentines weekend, while on another occasion two weeks ago they were unable to field a team at Home to second-from-bottom Sparta Finchley and had to concede the match, leaving them in danger of getting sucked into a relegation battle with five games left to play.
Thankfully though, Rovers injury problems have now finally cleared up with Christian Ellis and midfielders Freddy Gibson & Archie Madden-Brine all finally available again after long absences, while a good new signing in left-back David Martins is on the bench. With Myreon Keane serving a two-match suspension though, Harry Dorward has to play as a makeshift centre-forward while Freddy Gibson is also having to play in a more advanced role than normal with Frankie George, Rovers four-goal hero in their last match against AFC Edmonton, needed in defence with Rovers badly lacking in that department at the moment.

AFC Oakwood are currently second in the table coming into this match and they are one of several contenders for the Division Two title. Not surprisingly then, they are fielding a strong side for this one, including Step 3 Cheshunt's Captain Darion Furlong...son of Paul and brother of Ipswich Town's Darnell...in midfield while striker Matthew Walsh has scored 13 goals in just four appearances for Oakwood this season. They also have three other players playing who starred for them when they beat Highgate Albion's First Team to the Barnet Sunday League's Premier Division title not so long ago, so although Rovers drew 1-1 with them in a close game back in September, Oakwood will be the favourites to win this match on current form.
