Witnesses testified Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020, in the double murder trial of Jeremy Christian at the Multnomah County Courthouse in Portland, Oregon. Jeremy Christian is accused of stabbing Taliesin Namkai-Meche and Ricky Best to death on a MAX train and seriously injuring Micah Fletcher on May 26, 2017.
Fletcher told jurors Tuesday that he hoped to get Christian to refocus his attention on him, someone who is used to dealing with assaults, and that Namkai-Meche would be safe.
Defense attorneys indicated as the trial opened that they would seek to portray Fletcher as an aggressor.
