73 PEX struggles and a hard winter week – Bathroom– One Woman DIY Renovation Zen Build

Описание: Week 73 was a hard one. There were a few rough days, so I made a point to notice the wins — even the small ones. Winter is still in full force, with more snow constantly coming down, which makes every task a little more complicated.
I attempted to install a new screen door knob, but that project didn’t go as planned. I also wanted to get lighting installed in the downstairs bathroom so I could actually see while working, but I was missing a crucial piece and had to regroup.
On the progress side, I finished the drain plumbing in the downstairs bathroom — at least everything under the floor. That’s a major milestone. I also continued plaster repairs in the back stairwell, and the process is finally starting to feel almost scientific as I refine the technique.
One full day was dedicated to purchasing supplies for the water plumbing installation. Even with careful planning I still missed a few items, but I now have most of what I need to move forward.
The biggest challenge of the week was pulling PEX water lines through the basement wall. Between camera issues, resistant pipe, and drilling into some impressively inconvenient locations, it turned into a frustrating experience. To top it off, I managed to get my truck stuck in the snow after a long day.
But the week ended with a real win — I finally installed the bathroom light, and it’s working. Having light in that space changes everything and felt like the perfect way to close out a difficult week.
Progress isn’t always pretty, but it’s still progress.
