Palpatine: Oh, yes, and I will give my support to them to ensure a peaceful transfer of power, but that does not mean the transition is instantaneous. They will need to gather support, reaffirm connections I have made, and show that the public should support them.

Anakin: Yes, while I believe he will cooperate, I’m not sure if this is the right move.

Mace: And just what makes you say that? Surely you can see that Grievous’s death is the death blow to the CIS. It is time for the Republic to begin transitioning to a civilian government once again.

Anakin: It might be the end of open war, but there will still be conflict. Surely they will require continued coordination between the military and the Senate. And having these emergency powers can help.
