In this week's video, I'm sharing my sketching process for two scenery thumbnail exercises I worked on in my sketchbook this week, as I go over my top 5 tips to simplify complex scenes for drawings or paintings. 👩‍🎨

It's easy to get intimidated with the large amount (and vast array) of organic and inorganic elements present in scenes, to the point that we avoid working on this kind of art altogether.

However, by learning about Art Fundamentals such as 3D form, Perspective, Value, etc., and by training ourselves to break things down and simplify them, the process doesn't have to be so difficult. 🤓

The tips I share in this video are all things I make sure to have in mind to simplify scenes when preparing for a new larger drawing or painting, which always help ensure a better outcome.
