Today I am sharing a traditional Bengali style Saag Posto Recipe – a simple, healthy and स्वादिष्ट veg dish made with fresh saag and creamy poppy seed paste. This classic Bengali recipe is made without onion and garlic, perfect for everyday meals.

Ingredients:
2 cups chopped saag (spinach / palong saag / Any Saag)
Potato - 1 Big size ( diced)
2 tbsp posto (poppy seeds)
2–3 green Chilli (optional)
2 tbsp mustard oil
Salt to taste
1 pinch turmeric (optional)
👩🍳 Preparation:
1️⃣ Soak Posto
Soak poppy seeds in warm water for 15–20 minutes.
2️⃣ Make Paste
Grind soaked posto with green chillies into a smooth paste (add very little water).
3️⃣ Cook Potato n Saag
Heat mustard oil in a pan.
Add diced potato fry until slightly golden brown.
Add chopped saag and sauté for 3-4 minutes.
Cover n Cook for 5-10 mins.
4️⃣ Add Salt, Turmeric, Posto Paste
Add salt,turmeric.
Cook on low flame for 5–7 minutes. Stir continuously.
Again Cover n Cook
When potatoes are well cooked Add the Posto Paste.
And Give it a mix for 2-3 mins.
5️⃣ Finish
At last add 1 Tsp Mustard Oil. Turn off the heat.
🍽 Serving Suggestion:
Serve hot with steamed rice and a little mustard oil on top.
