In this video I try to use the french scribing technique (piquage) to lay out the tenons on the styles of the gate. This technique allows you to lay out precise joinery on irregularly shaped timber. It uses level and plumb lines as the reference since the material doesn't have any straight sides to work from. The difficulty comes from the need to make projections which has a high risk for error if you are a beginner like myself.
I wtried explaining what I did here as well as I could, but I think making a dedicated video about this proces would be a good idea.
