Описание: Using data from the World Values Survey, we find that in many countries, labor union members are quite centrist in their political ideology on a left-right scale, and that a full range of ideological views from the extreme left to the extreme right are also represented. This seemingly has important implications for labor movements and individual unions regarding building solidarity, engaging in politics, and developing representation strategies. This is a presentation of early-stage research by John Budd (University of Minnesota) and Ryan Lamare (University of Illinois) prepared for the session on "Union Members in Their Unions: New Research on Challenges for Effectiveness and Solidarity" prepared for the 72nd Annual Meeting of the Labor and Employment Relations Association (LERA)(June 2020).
