It was our day to go to the Oogie Boogie Bash event over at DCA. I sewed candy corn overalls for all of us. Thankfully Daddy Brad and Braden agreed to wear them for the event. Whew! That made Mommy Gie really happy!
Anywho, we left the hotel around 230ish, which is the time that Oogie Boogie Bash guests are allowed to enter the parks. The walk from our hotel to the entrance of Disneyland took just about five minutes. How convenient is that!
The crowd was not too bad walking there, but as soon as we got in the parks, that changed.
Oogie Boogie Bash guests have a different entrance, it was towards the end before Downtown Disney. After you scan your ticket QR codes, a cast member will give you your event wrist bands, which is highly recommended to not take off the entire event. They will check if you have a wrist band and if you do not have one, you will be asked to leave. Then the next cart, you will be given your treat bags. They are not that big, so it is good to bring your own bag. The next cart is where you can get a map for the event. You can also use the app on your phone, and it will give you information about the event.
It was our first Oogie Boogie, so we did not really know what to do, but made it like a regular park day. We headed over to Cars Land to make an attempt to go on Radiators Springs Racers. The halloween decorations at the parks is so nice! Cars Land is one of our favorite land during this spooky season.
The wait for Maters was also long, 45 min, so that means, the park is pretty busy. That could also mean that the non Oogie Boogie ticket holders are trying to go on as many rides as they can while they are asked to leave.
The wait for Radiators was about 180 min, so we decided to go on a different attraction.
We ended up over on the other side and went on the Golden Zephyr, wait was about 15 min, so that was not too bad. Daddy stayed out on this one, he did not want to get dizzy. But Mommy and Braden went on it.
Silly Symphony Swings was our next one, but as soon as we sat in the swings all buckled, it went out of service. So we had to exit out. On the way back to Daddy, we decided to go on the Jumpin Jellyfish. Braden's first time, so proud of him to be brave enough to go on it. After the ride, he said it was to bad at all.
Went back to get Daddy and went back on the Swings. Finally got to ride it and it didn't break down. It was one of Braden's favorite attraction in DCA.
Headed over to Cars Land and stood in line for Radiator Springs Racers. This was before 6 pm so non even ticket holders were gong to be asked to leave.
Wait time for Radiators was a lot less, 55 min. As we were waiting in the queue, cast members were going around checking to see who had wrist bands. The ones towards the end of the line were kindly asked to leave. The ones who were at the front of the line, they just let them go on.
They cleared the guests with no wrist bands, and the queue got super short. We got on the ride and it was such an amazing feeling to be able to ride it again. The lights were different for Halloween, it was in shades of green, purple and orange. It was very nice. Definitely one of our top favorite attractions in DCA.
