Snake plant or sansevieria zeylanica also known as bow string hemp is a plant that is native to Sri Lanka, my home country, where it is sometimes called niyanda. I have found information that suggests that fibres from this plant have been used to make clothing and paper. In this video, I extract the fibres and demonstrate how to make rope or cordage.
