Steamed Dumplings (Chicken)
Ingredients:
Dumpling wrappers10
300 ground chicken
2-inch ginger, minced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 carrot, finely diced
2 spring onions, chopped
1 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tbsp Chinese cooking wine
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp corn flour (cornstarch)
Salt, to taste
White pepper, to taste
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Filling
In a large bowl, add:
Ground chicken
Minced ginger
Minced garlic
Diced carrot
Chopped spring onion
Light soy sauce
Chinese cooking wine
Oyster sauce
Sesame oil
Corn flour
Salt and white pepper
Mix well until fully combined.
2. Fill the Dumpling Wrappers
Place one dumpling wrapper on your palm or board.
Add 1 tablespoon filling in the center.
Dip your finger in water and wet the edges.
Fold and seal the dumpling
Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
3. Steam the Dumplings
Line your steamer with cabbage leaf to prevent sticking.
Arrange dumplings with space between them.
Steam for 10–12 minutes until fully cooked.
4. Serve
Remove dumplings and serve hot.
Pour dumpling dipping sauce on top or serve on the side.
Garnish with white sesame seeds (optional).
Dumpling Dipping Sauce
2 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp honey
1 tsp grated ginger
1 tsp minced garlic
Chopped spring onion
Mix all ingredients well.
