Ancient & Historical Gallows (Phansi Ghat) In Forest Of Dina District Jhelum Punjab

Описание: In this video we will show you terrible gallows and jail which is situated on the bank of very deep ditches. This ancient and historical gallows was constructed on the south west side wall of Rohtas fort in forest of Tehsil Dina District Jhelum of Punjab province Pakistan. This gallows and jail was constructed by Sultan-Ul-Hind Sher Shah Suri 483 years ago in 1541 inside the Rohtas fort. A tradition is that many Sufi Saints took part for the construction of this building spiritually. That is the reason it is said that a large numbers of giants took part with human for the construction of this gallows. This gallows consists of 4 storeys and a hole of two and a half feet of diameter is present in the middle of the roof. There were binding places around it for the stability of bamboos. The hole of gallows is round where the board was kept and the circles of ropes had been put in the neck of culprit through bamboos. When the killing board was pulled the culprit hanged under the hole when the breath of culprit stopped and broke his neck than the ropes slacked. The body reached on the ground and the heirs were taken from the door. The body of traitor had been thrown in deep ditches or thrown this body on the roof in front of crows, kites and vultures etc. So that they eat the body. Many different stories about this gallows are present and a room is present under this gallows where had been kept the hungry lions. The culprits of execution or alive culprits had been thrown in front of hungry lions. This gallows was constructed on the wall of the fort. On the top of the roof the gallows is present while on the south west sides a series of continuous ditches are present where the thick forest is situated. The wild animals live here in large numbers. Stream Ghaan and stream Kas flows in this forest also. The room of lions is present on the second floor while a terrible jail was constructed on the ground floor where the culprits were locked up before the punishment. The small cells are present in this jail while a small tunnel had been made in this jail the way of this tunnel is inside of Rohtas fort while the second way is passing through a hall and open it in the deep ditch and no concept of ran away from jail. In fact this was a terrible gallows and jail on this time but now it has been a part of the history. Now this old building has been deserted now the people come here for visit and entertain Rohtas fort and visit the terrible place. The responsibility to look after this historical place is Archaeology department Punjab Pakistan. You can visit this Rohtas fort, gallows, jail, mosque, temple, stepwell, Rani Mahal and Haveli Maan Singh after purchase low amount of ticket.
