TVTU SPECIAL TTC 2022 Doors Open Event At Lower Bay Station

On May 28, 2022, as part of the 2022 Great Gulf Toronto Doors Open event, the TTC opened the Lower Bay Station as part of TTC's 100th anniversary. This time, the TTC shows exhibits about the history of the TTC since it was founded in 1921. The Lower Bay Station was opened in 1966 along with the Bloor-Danforth line from Keele to Woodbine and operated on an interlining system. After six months when the interlining system became too confusing, the two lines became permanently separated and Lower Bay station was closed and abandoned, however, this station is still used today for safety testing and trainings and also used for film sets for Hollywood movie productions. This station was previously opened in Doors Open events in 2007, 2008, 2013, 2018, and 2019.
