Описание:
For over two centuries, Kuaua village thrived on a sandy terrace overlooking the Rio Grande. It comprised over a thousand rooms, organized into linear blocks enclosing plazas with round and square kivas. From Kuaua extending southward to Isleta, around a dozen significant Pueblos were located along the river near present-day Albuquerque. When Francisco Vasquez de Coronado arrived in 1540, he designated this region Tiguex, and his forces occupied a pueblo during that winter, devolving into conflict. This ancient village is now recognized as Coronado Historic Site, and has some of the best preserved mural art in all the Southwest. Join me today as we explore the history of Kuaua Pueblo.
