Once when H H Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar was in Bangalore palace, he developed acute mouth ulcers and could not speak or eat. Bhagavathar deeply moved by this prayed before Devi. Due to Ulcers, as the king could not speak by joining both the lips, he composed a kriti in a new raga called Niroshta, which means non-contact of lips. In this composition dedicated to Devi, he did not use the alphabets like Ma and Pa where in the lips come in contact neither in music or the lyrics.
