La vicenda delle diverse forme di deviazione ereticale dal sentiero di una dottrina codificata costituisce una riflessione sulle aspettative di salvezza e di maggiore giustizia sociale che il potere laico ufficiale e la struttura organizzativa ecclesiastica non riuscirono sempre a soddisfare.

This first film is an introduction to the history of the Medieval Church and the construction of a system of power and social organisation that goes beyond simple ethical and religious significance. The story of the various forms of heretical deviation from the path of codified doctrine is a reflection on the expectations of salvation and greater social justice that the official secular power and the ecclesiastical organisational structure were not always able to satisfy.
