Moses Itauma has admitted he cannot even recall ever sparring a full 12 rounds before stepping into a 12 round world title fight against Filip Hrgovic. Tony Jeffries, Olympic medalist boxer, breaks down exactly what went wrong in Itauma's training camp, why his stamina collapsed late, and what should happen next in his career.

Itauma threw 261 punches through the first six rounds alone, 160 of them power shots, then kept the pace up even as he tired, throwing 65 punches in the eighth round and another 52 in the ninth while completely exhausted. Tony argues this was not simply bad stamina, since footage from Itauma's fourth professional fight back in 2023 shows him telling his own corner the pace was too high after just one round, proving he has always understood pacing instinctively. The real failure happened in the training camp itself, where his team should have mentally prepared him for a genuine 12 round fight instead of expecting another early knockout.
