In our coronavirus world when studies show obesity and metabolic conditions put us at increased risk of complications, it’s more important than ever to get our heads round the root causes of these common, distressing but often-avoidable diseases. Stress, lack of sleep and daylight, and too much sitting are part of the story… but sugar is the headline.
I explain ten of the key reasons (there are many more!) why sugar in the amounts we eat it in the developed world overwhelms our bodies and suggest how to start tackling it.
Just having the facts isn’t the whole story when it comes to health and weight loss… but at least it gives you an idea of who the villain is.
