This is part of my variation series to provide alternatives to common moves in pole and aerial in terms of poses, entries, exits and grips. Ideally this will help other pole dancers and aerialists find more variety in their training routine, and other instructors (like me) find options for all students.
This is a video on shouldermount grip variations with a couple of different entries. Check out my other video on shoulder mount variations!
1. True grip (replace outside hand with a true grip, thumb up, pull down on it with vigour)
2. Princess grip (replace inside hand with a twisted grip, again give it a good pull down)
3. Elbow grip (replace inside hand with an elbow grip, placing it high as it will slip down slightly)
4. Shouldermount descent (in crucifix tuck body into pole, position hands in cup grip and really tuck head in to get pole onto trap not collarbone)
5. Scissor seat entry (twist body towards same side as lower leg and position pole firmly onto trap not scapula, invert as you twizzle your legs into a hangman position)
