Palestinians have been marking the 10th anniversary of the start of the Intifida -- their uprising against Israeli rule.

Hundreds gathered in the Jabaliya refugee camp in Gaza, where the first clashes took place between Israeli soldiers and Palestinian youths.

It's a decade since the start of the Intifada -- the Palestinian uprising against Israeli occupation - which started here, in the Jabaliya refugee camp, in Gaza.

Hundreds gathered on Tuesday at the spot where the first clashes took place, with photographs of the relatives killed in clashes with Israeli troops.

Around 16-hundred Palestinians died the fighting - while 350 Israelis lost their lives.

But today's events also struck a lighter note - as a police band played, and many danced in celebration.

In nearby Gaza City, a small procession of masked men took to the streets -- some with their guns.

And here they relived some of the violent moments -- for once this was an act, and not for real.
