The site, with its rugged terrain, countless rocks, and stunning sea views, presented both challenges and opportunities. Architect Stefania Stera envisioned a house that would not alter the landscape but instead magnify its natural beauty, staying true to the tradition of Porto Cervo.
The design is centered around two axes: one projecting towards the sea and the other soaring towards the rocky cliffs. This creates a unique layout on two levels, both functioning as ground floors. The house is designed as an architectural promenade, with spaces that flow seamlessly into one another and into the natural environment.
Key features include a "flying carpet" green terrace overlooking the sea, a ledge path that enhances the waterfront, and a main courtyard bathed in the golden light of the setting sun. The unconventional layout places the real entrance in the courtyard, with rooms arranged around it to create a bright, central core.
The house offers multiple access points, including a main entrance, a parking "boulevard," and a caretaker’s house. The master suite is a highlight, with a U-shaped lounge opening wide to the sea and a sequence of patios, terraces, and courtyards that frame the stunning views.
