In the news this week,

Bahrain’s Ministry of Works, Municipality Affairs and Urban Planning has invited expressions of interest (EoIs) from leading construction firms and developers for the establishment of food sustainability facilities in various locations across the kingdom.

In Egypt, Ora Developers and Orascom Construction have signed a contract to build the first phase of the ZED Sheikh Zayed project. The ceremony was attended by Naguib Sawiris the International CEO and Chairman of Ora Developers as well as Orascom Construction’s CEO, Osama Bishai.

Ora Developers signed an additional agreement worth 1 billion Egyptian pounds with Banque Misr, which is the first of its kind for Ora Developers, dedicated to the first phase of ZED Sheikh Zayed.
Al-Hamra Kuwait announced that it is the lowest bidder for the Ministry of Public Works project No. HT/287 following the recent opening of bids with a bid of KD 4,786,000.

The works will include the supply, installation and operation of pumps, as well as construction of pipelines, which will be used to transfer water to the tanks of the Public Authority for Agriculture and Fisheries Affairs. These works are designed to solve the issue of water gathering in Kuwait’s Sabah Al Ahmad City.

The UAE Minister of Energy and Industry, Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, has revealed that the UAE will voluntarily cut its oil output by 100,000 barrels per day in June in a bid to back Saudi Arabia's efforts to rebalance the world oil market.

The Saudi Ministry of Energy has directed Saudi Aramco to reduce its crude oil production, for the month of June, by an extra voluntary amount of one million barrels per day, in addition to the reduction committed by the Kingdom in the latest OPEC+ agreement on 12 April, 2020.

His Excellency Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan, KSA's Finance Minister - announced that Saudi Arabia will implement an increase in the value-added tax rate (VAT) from 5% to 15% as part of its measures to offset the challenges associated with the COVID-19 outbreak in the kingdom, However, the UAE has no plans to increase its VAT (value-added tax) rate

Oman’s Ibri province in the Dhahirah governorate has floated a tender for the construction works of the Ibri Science and Innovation Centre project in line with the region’s sustainable social development projects.

According to HE Sheikh Dr Khalaf, "The project will cover on a total area of 1,565m2 next to the Ibri reference hospital, and will consist of a multi-purpose hall that includes a library, a theatre equipped with all acoustic and lighting requirements, an astronomy dome, a ballroom, and a centre for science and innovation."

And finally, in our news this week - Contractors were preparing to submit bids on 18th May 2020 to Qatar Petroleum for the tender of Station SR2 Access Road Improvement Works in Mesaieed Industrial City, Qatar.

The project involves the construction of Asphalt Road Pavement for the existing unpaved access road to QP GDS Station SR2, in the Mesaieed Industrial City.

في الإمارات، كشف وزير الطاقة والصناعة الإماراتي سهيل بن محمد فرج فارس المزروعي أن دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة ستخفض طواعية إنتاجها النفطي بمقدار 100 ألف برميل يومياً في يونيو دعما لجهود المملكة العربية السعودية لإعادة التوازن إلى سوق النفط العالمية
وضمن أهم الأخبار في المملكة العربية السعودية ، وجهت وزارة الطاقة السعودية أرامكو لخفض إنتاجها من النفط الخام ليونيو المقبل بمبلغ طوعي إضافي قدره مليون برميل يوميا ، بالإضافة إلى التخفيض الذي التزمت به المملكة في أوبك بلس الأخير
وأيضا في السعودية، أعلن معالي محمد بن عبدالله الجدعان، وزير المالية السعودي ، أن المملكة العربية السعودية ستعمل على زيادة معدل ضريبة القيمة المضافة من 5٪ إلى 15٪ كجزء من إجراءاتها لمواجهة التحديات المرتبطة ب تفشي فيروس كرونا ف المملكة
في عمان، طرحت محافظة عبري العمانية بمحافظة الظاهرة مناقصة لأعمال بناء مشروع مركز عبري للعلوم والابتكار تماشيا مع مشاريع التنمية الاجتماعية المستدامة في المنطقة
