Hello everyone. In the last few videos we discussed the causes of headache. Then we discussed Trigeminal Neuralgia. Today, we will be discussing Brain Tumor. A lot of people approached me with many doubts. As they suggested that I share about this topic, I am doing this video today.

Many people would not have heard much about brain tumors. This will be a new topic. But for whom would this be useful? If your family members or your friends, or if someone you know have a brain tumor or if any of their family members have a brain tumor (surely someone might have had), in such scenarios, people have a lot of doubts.

Not many people are aware of this. So, in this episode we will discuss clearly about brain tumor. June 8th was World Brain Tumor day. Last week we commemorated the day. It is mainly to create awareness.

If someone you know or if your friends get a brain tumor they would be in for a shock. So there is a tumor in the brain. What about it and why did it occur? How could we have prevented it? What are the causes of it? Who all can get it? If a person gets it what would be the symptoms? How to find it? What are the treatment options for those who get it? What are the advancements in the treatment options? Can the disease be cured? Can it be prevented?

Explanations for all these things shall be discussed today. Firstly, the brain tumor. What is brain tumor?

If we look inside the brain there is the skull. It is a god given natural helmet. Inside that helmet only, the brain remains protected. Between the brain and the skull there is a cover for the brain. We call it Dura. So, first there is skin, under the skin is the skull, we call it the skull vault. Under that is dura and inside that is the brain. That is the structure of the brain.

Now the tumor can originate from anything. A brain tumor could be inside a skull, it could be from the dura, or it could be inside or outside the brain. So the brain tumor is a very common term. A brain tumor is any tumor that develops in the head is how it is seen from the public perspective.
