all right so I watched del Toro's Pinocchio and I gotta say his wood in nose wow but holy crap the stop animation motion Pinocchio this might be the best version actually this is the best version I've ever seen you know the story old man wishes life in a wooden boy and then they get into all sorts of scrambles now del Toro's version has some of the usual beats but I adored his unique drearier more adult take on this children's story like it gets dark at times I mean it's set during World War II and tackles fascism but does have some funny I mean laugh out loud moments tucked in there

morbidly funny too ultimately the stop motion attention to detail wowed me the most it's so meticulous what they created I highly recommend one of the most unique realistically themed versions I've seen that'll punch you in the fields
