🔲 Posterior Tibial Tendonitis & Shin Splints
▫️Posterior tibial tendinitis is inflammation or irritation of the posterior tibial tendon. This can lead to pain in the shin often known as shin splints. Shin splints can originate from other causes besides the posterior tibial tendon.
▫️Treatment of posterior tibial tendinitis and shin splints involves decreasing muscular tightness and rest in the acute phase, and then gradually loading the tendon in order to build strength and resiliency.
▫️In this video I demonstrate several exercises to gradually load the posterior tibial tendon and greater calf complex. These exercise exercises will help strengthen the muscles of the lower leg and can be used in treatment of posterior tibial tendinitis and or shin splints.
